Introduction
Learner engagement in e-learning is one
of the primary components of effective online learning, so it is important to
discover the instructional strategies for learner engagement. How do we ensure
we have selected the right strategies for a given content and group of learners
for learner engagement? How can evaluate learner engagement to ensure these strategies were successful?

In this session you will be engaged in some activities that will help you to describe student engagement, find out some successful online strategies to engage learners to share with your classmates, discuss the role of online discussion to engage learners and at the end of the session you will work in pairs to design activity that help to engage online learners.
Note: you will have an assignment to submit after one week from this session (10 marks).
